Did King Offa Accept the Faith of Islâm?
Anyone who believes is responsible for all that he sees and hears. In the Qur’an, Allah calls on Muslims using these words:What reason could you have for not fighting in the Way of Allah for those men, women and children who are oppressed and say, “Our Lord, take us out of this city whose inhabitants are wrongdoers! Give us a protector from You! Give us a helper from You!”? (Qur’an, 4: 75)At a time of violent oppression taking place worldwide, it is impossible for a Muslim to sleep unheeding in his comfortable bed, waste his time on empty matters, and think only of his own interests and pleasures. A true believer knows that the fundamental solution to unjust wars, slaughter, cruelty, hunger, moral degeneration and all the problems facing the world is for people to spread Qur’anic morality. That knowledge imposes a great responsibility on a believer: that of telling the world about the religion of Islam and the beautiful things it brings with it, spreading Qur’anic morality, and waging a struggle of ideas against atheism. Those who take on that honorable responsibility will help lead all those who are oppressed in the world to the light through the guidance of the Qur’an. By the will of Allah, the long-awaited spring is not far off.
The reason for this steady rise is not only the increasing population in Muslim countries, but also the growing numbers of people who are turning to Islam, a phenomenon that has gained momentum, especially after the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 (hereinafter referred to as 9/11). This attack, deplored by everyone, especially Muslims, has suddenly turned people's attention (especially Americans) to Islam. People in the West are talking a lot about what kind of a religion Islam is, what the Qur'an says, what obligations come with being a Muslim, and how Muslims are required to conduct their affairs. This interest has naturally brought about a rise in the number of people worldwide turning to Islam. So, the commonly heard prediction after 9/11 that "this attack will change the course of world history" has, in a sense, started to come true. The process of returning to religious and spiritual values, which the world has been experiencing for a long time, has become a turning to Islam.
Slander is one of the ugly methods used by dishonest and immoral people whose interests have been damaged, and thus are hostile, angry, and full of ill-feeling toward the people with whom they are in competition or whom they desire to hurt. In societies that are far removed from religious morality and so do not live by Allah’s will, it is frequently used to put others in a bad light. This book deals with a certain type of slander, which has been handed down from generation to generation over thousands of years as if it were an inheritance: that used by those who do not believe in religion to harm believers, whether physically or spiritually. The Qur’an reveals that all of Allah’s messengers and other devout people who called their societies to abide by the Qur’an’s morality stood accused of avarice, madness, arrogance, theft, and fornication. By Allah’s leave, however, every piece of slander has come to nothing. These people always displayed exemplary patience and reliance upon Allah when confronted with slander, disregarded such efforts, and continued to live by the morality ordained by Allah and invite people to the righteous path.
Terrorism is a crime against humanity. It is a brutal attack on innocent people. Islam is a religion that means "peace". In the Koran, the Holy Book of Islam, God commands believers to bring peace and security to the world. Terrorism and all other mischief on Earth are the very acts that Muslims are commanded by God to stand against. The Islamic morality is the cure for terrorism, not the source of it. Those who resort to or support terrorism in the name of Islam are in a great error. They are committing a crime which God has cursed in the Koran. All true Muslims denounce terrorism of any kind, and share the sorrows of its victims.
This book deals with the Muslim world's need for the establishment of an Islamic Union and its importance for world peace in the light of the political, sociological and economic facts. The current situation clearly suggests that Muslims will influence the developments of the twenty-first century in one way or another. However, what really matters here is that this influence must benefit the Islamic world in particular and humanity in general. The first thing that comes to mind at this stage is whether the Islamic world can play such a role, given its present condition. No doubt, Muslims have the necessary ability and awareness to shoulder this responsibility. Since the era of the Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace), Muslims led the way in science, reason, thought, art, culture, and civilization, and produced many benefits for humanity. Muslims taught the world science, reasoning, medicine, art, hygiene, and countless other subjects. In order to restart the rise of Islam, powered by the Qur'an's light and wisdom, present-day Muslims have to acquire guidance based on the Qur'an's morality and the Prophet's (may God bless him and grant him peace) Sunnah (His example, or way of life). The Islamic world's disunity and fragmentation is an even more urgent and vital problem that must be resolved. The fact that the Muslims have not been able to create a powerful and active Islamic Union is a major contributor to many of today's ills. When a strong Islamic Union is formed, such problems will either not arise or will be resolved far quicker than anticipated.

Sunnah (Arabic: سنة ) literally means “trodden path”, and therefore, the sunnah of the prophet means “the way of the prophet”. Terminologically, the word ‘Sunnah’ in Sunni Islam means those religious actions that were instituted by the Prophet Muhammad during the 23 years of his ministry and which Muslims initially received through consensus of companions of Muhammad (Sahaba), and further through generation-to-generation transmission. According to some opinions, sunnah in fact consists of those religious actions that were initiated by Prophet Abraham and were only revived by Prophet Muhammad.
The Qur'ān [1] (Arabic: القرآن al-qurʼān, literally "the recitation"; also called al-qurʼān al-karīm "The Noble Qur'an"; also transliterated as Quran, Koran (the traditional term in English), and Al-Quran), is the central religious text of Islam. Muslims believe the Qur'an to be the literal word of God (Arabic: Allah) as revealed to Muhammad, over a period of twenty-three years by the angel Gabriel and regard it as God's final revelation to humankind.
